Testimonials

Michael Campion PhD

Paul and I have been colleagues and friends for over 40 years. He has contributed to my research, joined me in presentations, provided counterpoints to some of my ideas, and earned the reputation of being up-to date on interviewing research and training. Furthermore, his presentations are innovative, fun, and engaging.

Here is what I think you should know before attending Paul’s seminars.

Breadth Of Impact: Paul has had great success in engaging clients and I-O Psychologists. When he sold the Behavioral Interviewing system, he had 50 full-time employees and over 1,300 certified trainers to deliver the program. It is estimated that his training videos have been seen by over 3 million managers.

Sound Research: He published evidence for the reliability and validity of an early version of his Behavioral Interviewing program (International Journal for Selection and Assessment, 1993). The concurrent validation study for this system yielded interview inter-rater reliability at .65 and reported concurrent validity to be .42 for group consensus scores and .44 for panel average scores.

Work As A Practitioner: Paul’s entire career (over 50 years) has been directed to the selection interview. He has conducted assessment interviews, trained interviewers, and innovated in the use of a work activity inventory for the development of job-related structured interviews.

Contributions To The Community Of Interviewers: He has delivered interviewer training world-wide, including Europe and South America. In addition, he spread his interviewing techniques through training videos and wrote books for individuals who need to learn the practical skills required for conducting defensible interviews.

One more thing: Paul is one of the few interviewing experts who has done thousands of interviews. In the first years of his practice, he did individual assessments of Executives, Top Managers, Airline Pilots, Salespersons, Police Officers, and many other jobs. In short, Paul is a highly experienced interviewer with extensive knowledge and experience to share in training.

Sincerely,
